HIKING: Black Forest Regional Park

← CO ARKANSAS RIVER GRANADA CO Triple Blaze →

Description

This park includes 427 acres and is located approximately four miles east of Interstate 25 on Shoup Road. As suggested by its name, the character of Black Forest Park is dominated by the presence of the ponderosa pine forest.<br />
The developed area, with turf playfields, tennis courts and two picnic pavilions, were developed in natural openings of the forest. A six mile, loop trail used for non-motorized recreation winds through the park.

Directions

From Colorado Springs, take Black Forest Road north into the Black Forest. Turn left onto Shoup Rd. at the second light you see. The park is on the right about 2 miles down Shoup.
